Motivation, team spirit and commitment at the Europakanal in Erlangen
FLEXiCODE at the sixth dragon boat race for a good cause
“Ready – attention – go!” was the motto recently for the sixth time at the legendary dragon boat race of the Rotary Clubs Erlangen on the Europakanal. This exciting event is organized every two years by the Erlangen rowing club and serves a charitable purpose. Numerous companies from the region come together to compete against each other and yet together for a good cause on the water.
This time, a total of 22 companies, each with 18 participants, set the dragon boats in motion in a three-way competition and shone with their team performance. But there was also plenty on offer on land at the event: In addition to delicious food, cakes and drinks, there was musical accompaniment from a big band. A varied children’s program including a bouncy castle and great games also made children’s eyes light up.
Around 20,000 euros were raised at this year’s dragon boat race, which will benefit local projects and the “mobile pharmacy” for frontline areas in Ukraine. Bavaria’s Minister of the Interior and Sport, Joachim Herrmann, personally took over the award ceremony at the end of the competition, having previously addressed a greeting to all visitors.
This was the second time that FLEXiCODE had taken part in this fantastic event and once again it was a day full of fun and enjoyment for young and old alike. We are particularly pleased that we were able to contribute to this great donation and do something good with our participation.
A big thank you goes to the organizers, who have now put on this event for the sixth time. We are proud to have been part of it and would like to encourage other companies not to miss out on the next dragon boat race.
See you in two years!
